Michael Yapko, PhD is one of our best clinician/scientist/trainers, especially in both hypnosis and depression. You’ll enjoy visiting his site’s interesting and useful entries, including his many publications and international teaching schedule. The 5th edition of his integration of hypnosis and psychotherapy, especially in relation to CBT, is the clearest and best book I know for learning to use hypnosis in therapy with sophistication and grace.
The “elephant” paper below describes his fascinating work with the elephant keepers at the San Diego Zoo and its application to psychotherapy. The other article is a short overview of what Marriage & Family [= any], therapists need to know about hypnosis.
